Helllooooo Sheffield.

Arrived in Sheffield today, after a chilled Sunday off back home in Middlesbrough (special thanks to my mother for cooking me the best three course meal, DEFINITELY needed).

I won't lie when I say that I must have said 'I really like it here, Sheffield's great' well over 8 times (to be precise) in conversation today. Day one and I'm already getting goooooood vibes.

Of course it's massively helped by the fact that we happen to be in a very lovely theatre.

Here's me, Lewis (Children's Director), Grace (Sister Sophia), Sarah (Elsa Shraeder) and Luke (Rolf) in our first Sheffield selfie.

LYCEUM, WE ARE HEREEEE.

Very much looking forward to these next two weeks in MANY ways.

Toi, toi, toi and more to come!!!

picking up where i left off...

I had every good intention in kicking off this blog in style last year. Unfortunately, life seemed to catch up with me and I had to abandon ship.

A LOT has happened in a year. I'm now on the road around the UK with The Sound of Music. Touring is something I've always wanted to do as I love exploring new places, the UK being no exception. What better way to see the UK than seeing it whilst doing a job I LOVE?

So I'm gonna start from the very beginning (a very good place to start apparently... too far?) and post some tour shiz as I go along. Hoping this will spur me to do some sightseeing rather than letting myself sit on my ass watching Netflix in my spare time!!!

So hereeeeeeeeee we gooooooo! 2015 I'm coming for youuuuuuuu

introduction to the city.

I moved to London just under four years ago to study for, and to pursue, a career in Musical Theatre. Over the past four years I have developed a love for exploring new places in and around this awesome, huge city. Just last year I moved from West London to Southeast London, which opened my eyes to more amazing places that I never knew existed here in the capital. I've come to realise that I have a great love for finding new and interesting independent venues to go for dinner, social gatherings and even just a good cup of tea. Family and friends often approach me for such good places to visit when enjoying a trip down here, thus the idea of this blog was born.

I happen to be a great lover of all things artistic... theatre, live music, exhibitions, pretty much everything. This blog will contain a great deal of that from wherever my travels take me.

I actually thought of this idea whilst sipping on a Whiskey Ginger at one of the venues I visited in Nashville, TN, just last month. See the USA page for some awesome places I dropped in on whilst in the States! And of course, being a true homebird, I will often post about places from 'oop north and beyond.

Love
